Itīs a great book for experienced people, lots of information about the Moon and itīs mythology, and spells. It is for more advanced learners because it doesn't explain basic concepts and tends to be a little confusing for beginners, but itīs really useful if youīre already knowledgeable about the Craft.
Lady of the Night : A Handbook of Moon Magick & Rituals (Llewellyn's Modern Witchcraft)
by Edain McCoy
Although just about any beginner's level book will go into some detail about magick and it's correspondence with the moon, McCoy has managed to bring it all together in a concise book that covers many areas not so thoroughly covered in other books. Correspondences, days, hours and other things needed to help aid you in your magickal workings are contained within, and are a useful source to those wishing to learn more on the subject.
Mountain Magick : Folk Wisdom from the Heart of Appalachia (Llewellyn's Practical Magick Series)
by Edain McCoy
McCoy's book is a good introduction to the Appalachian belief system of folk magick. Being from Appalachia myself, I was extremely interested in the subject and McCoy's take on the subject, since she is not a native to the region. I was not disappointed in McCoy's writing style or her ability to translate a tradition that dates back hundreds of years into modern language and importance. Highly recommend this book to anyone interested in any type of magick or Appalachian studies.
Crones book of words was a great book. It is filled with authentic spells, both old, and new, I still use the book all the time. I have tons of books on Spells, and Witchcraft, but This one i use the most!
by Scott Cunningham, Bill Fugate (Illustrator), Greg Guler (Illustrator)
This is the book if expensive alter items, and highly elaborate rituals aren't for you. Scott Cunningham, focuses on using what's around us in the everyday world to create for us the results we desire. His straight to the point style, and endearing sense of humor make this a must read for those of us looking for true earth based magick. A wonderful resource, and a truly educational book.
I really liked this book. If there are any magical objects you want to create or crafts you want to take up, this is a very good book to have. It tells you how to create everything from potpourri to candles to spell brooms. I would reccommend this book to anyone who is taking up the art of spell crafting.
