Wolfspirit's Mystical Journey

I want to tell you about a trip I took about two years ago. I bought an RV in Washington state. I had flown up there to visit my daughter who lived in Everett. I decided to drive it back to California where I lived at the time. I left Washington State in January/February sometime. I had my 4 year old grandson with me. Before leaving, I asked my spirit guides to protect us and to guide us on our trip back to California.

When I reached Grants Pass, Oregon, I had to get gas. The gas attendant asked me which direction I was going and I told him south. He then informed me that chains were being required on Mount Ashland. (I had thought about chains before leaving Everett but they were too costly for my budget and I figured that I would get them cheaper in California.) I then asked the attendant if he knew where I could camp overnight with my RV. He suggested Rogue River State Park. I drove there and camped for the night.

The next morning, a state ranger came by to collect fees and proceeded to let me know that the chains were still required. My grandson and I decided to go eat breakfast and hopefully the weather would get better. After breakfast, I went to the Napa Auto Parts Store to buy some new windshield wipers. They were having a sale on chains. I bought a set of chains also. With that purchase, we set out for California.

When we reached Mount Ashland there was not only no chains not required, the road was dry. On reaching Redding, California, I made the decision to continue on to Visalia since it was only around 3pm in the afternoon. I knew I would be home around midnight. The next day it snowed in Redding, and areas north of there. I really believe in my Spirit Guides. They helped on this trip.

My next trip was just as exciting, even more so. I left California in the second week of April, heading to the east coast. I loaded up my Rv, changed spark plugs, put on a new starter, and went through all scenarios of things that could go wrong. I had extra parts and belts and etc. I was ready.

This time I was traveling by myself. I took off heading down Hiway 99 in Central California to Bakersfield and across Tehachapi Pass into the desert area heading into Arizona on Interstate 40. I got to Kingman Arizona and decided to gas up. I was gassing up when this Native American lady appeared before me and asked if I was Wolfspirit. I stated that I was. She told me that I needed to go to the POWWOW in Albequerque that weekend. I stated that I really wasn't planning on going to Albequerque. I had plans to go to the Grand Canyon, the Four Corners, and then planned on heading into the Taos area. She said, "You really need to go to THIS Powwow THIS weekend." I told her ok, but didn't really think that I would go. She smiled and the next thing I knew she had disappeared. I thought it a little strange but I figured that because it was so crowded she got mixed up in the crowd.

I was headed toward the cut-off to the Grand Canyon when the RV started feeling funny. So in the next town I pulled over to check out what was wrong. I saw that my right front tire was worn and had a bubble on it. I asked around and found out that a good used tire would cost me 45 dollars.I decided to wait because there was noway I was paying 45 dollars for a used tire. I had a good spare so I decided to go ahead and continue my trip. Bad Idea? Maybe.

I headed for the Grand Canyon and it was Gorgeous. Fantastic views. I kept pulling over in every pull out just to stare and absorb all the energies there. At the time I was there a storm was brewing on the northern rim and the lightening was just tremendous. It made the Grand Canyon even more stupendous than it was. As it started getting dark, continued on my trip to the Four Corners. As I was leaving the Grand Canyon, the storm that was on the north rim was where I was. And boy! what a storm. It was a sand storm. Visibility was so bad that I couldn't see. I was getting a little worried but then I saw a Sign in the darkness. It was a Chevron station sign. I pulled in and there was a sign that said "Overnight Campers are welcome." I walked into the office and said I needed a place for the night. The clerk asked" Do you need hookups?" "No," I replied. He proceeded to tell me that the site was free for the night then. So cool. I spent the night and headed on my trip the next morning.

I then proceeded toward the Four Corners. I reached the Four Corners without incident and stood on four states at the same time. I was playing the typical tourist. LOL! From there I cut across the top of Arizona and headed into New Mexico toward Taos. I had real good roads and the area was beautiful for a while. Then, I hit road construction. For miles and miles there was an all gravel road. Finally, a detour. WOW! One hundred mile detour and ended up about 9 miles past where the detour started. I am getting a little annoyed with all the time and gas it was taking. And as if it couldn't get any worse, it started to snow. And snow. And snow some more. I decided to find a place to stay the night at a place called Chama, New Mexico. I pulled into an Rv park and spent the night.

When Iwoke up the next morning there was frosty snow everywhere and everything was frozen. Frozen solid. My sewer lines and my water lines were frozen solid. I had to cut my sewer line to get it unhooked and was able to get the faucet unhooked. At that point, I decided, well, maybe going to the POWWOW in Albequerque wasn't such a bad idea at that. I was disgusted and dispirited. So, I headed out for Albequerque which by coincidence was a right turn out of the RV Park. I traveled south until I reached Albequerque and pulled into a gas station to get gas. I called a couple of Native American agencies to see where the POWWOW was. I was informed that there was no POWWOW that weekend, in fact, there wasn't one for another 3 weeks. I wasn't staying in the area for another 3 weeks so I decided to go on to Carlsbad to visit an aunt.

{I learned later that the day after I left, the Santa Fe National Forest caught on fire and over 2000 acres were burned. That was right where I was and where I was going!)
